About Me

My photo
Stephen and I joined the Navigators staff in June 2010 to do college ministry at Oregon State University. We moved to Corvallis and into the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity to be House Parents in September 2010. In June 2011 we welcomed our beautiful daughter Sadie Maren who will now be a frat baby!

Cute pics as of late . . .

Oh and an update on Sadie's three month stats: weight: approximately 14 pounds (although she was weighed fully clothed and with her diaper on, so it's probably a few ounces under 14lbs), length: 24 1/2 inches and head circumference: 15 1/2 inches. So she's definitely getting bigger and bigger. It's crazy!

Stephen went to the Greek Fire Academy and the guys from the fraternity insisted he bring back this hat for Sadie.

All dressed up for her first Monday night dinner!

Mom and Baby girl - (I know Mom her hair looks red in this picture but it's not!)

dressed up last Saturday for the game even though we didn't go ("Beav in training" the shirt says)

This is Sadie's binky holder giraffe - we have named him Marcel and Sadie loves him!

So cute at bath time

!
Sadie loves her baths and I actually got a smile picture!

An instant favorite

I just absolutely love this picture and had to share it. Our girl looks SO cute here I think. Of course I may be just a teensy bit biased. : )

3 months old today!

Little miss Sadie turned 3 months old today - September 25, 2011. She is getting so big! I will try and check her weight and length soon to see how she has grown. We don't have a Dr. appointment this month though so we will just have to do our best with our measuring tape and a home scale. She is still in mostly 0-3 month clothes although one piece outfits and pajamas she is in 3-6 months. We are finishing up a pack of size 1 diapers and then will probably move up to size 2s in a couple of days.

She is still stingy with her smiles which is why I don't have really any pictures of her smiling! She recently has started smiling at strangers though. Especially today. We went to church for the first time and everyone was so excited to see her and she smiled at everyone!

She has rolled over three times but that was two weeks ago and she doesn't seem that close to doing it again. Sadie is squealing a lot more these days but we haven't gotten a laugh out of her yet - can't wait for that!

Sadie loves her play mat and putting everything in her mouth especially her binky with a giraffe stuffed animal attached that we call Marcel. It's funny though she tries to put her blanket or a toy in her mouth but her hand gets there first. She grabs at everything including her own clothes, my clothes, my hair . . . etc. Sadie also discovered her toes this week and whenever we lay her down she reaches to grab them almost immediately.

It's been a busy month!

So I'm way way behind on this blog - sorry! We thought things were going to calm down once September hit and that our summer of travelling was finally over but that didn't turn out to be true. We got our bathtub re-done here at the fraternity. They started while we were in Black Butte and were supposed to be finished by the time we got home but of course that didn't happen. We should have known since construction workers are notoriously off schedule! We ended up spending a few days at the Winders which was great fun and then we ended up going to Portland for Labor Day weekend. We also went to Seaside for our student leader retreat and then this past weekend we went to the San Jan Islands for a wedding. Whew! It's been crazy. Here are some pics of our busy month . . .

Sadie with the Winder boys Trevor and Carson - so sweet!

Our family at Seaside - it was close to 80 degrees!

All of us at the wedding on Guemes Island in the San Juans - it was a quite chilly but beautiful!

What Sadie is all about these days . . .

She has definitely found her hands and loves putting them and just about anything else in her mouth

Daddy teaching her how to drum.

She's holding her head up so well now (especially when she's trying to watch tv during tummy time!). And she even rolled over three times last week!

Sadie also loves standing up. She can stand with us holding only her hands - such a big girl!

I just had to try on this outfit my Mom got Sadie long before she was born. Only problem was it was like 90 degrees outside! Hopefully it still fits when it actually gets cold.

Sadie's hair is getting spikey-er by the day!

Josiah Earl Quarles was born on August 21, 2011 to Tiffany and Travis. Almost exactly 2 months after Sadie was born. We got to see them over Labor Day weekend. We can't wait for Sadie and Josiah to be friends some day!

We got to see our friend's the Andersons over Labor Day weekend. Evie let Sadie lay in her crib with her. : )

Two months!

Sadie turned two months old on August 25, 2011! We were in Black Butte for the Petermeyer family vacation but we remembered to bring her doll to take her picture. She has grown so much in only one month! She had her two month Doctor appointment on August 30th. At this visit we found out her weight, height, and head circumference. We also had the dreaded vaccinations - Sadie got 7 vaccinations in all but luckily only had to have 3 shots. She did great!

She weighs 11lbs. 11.5ounces (75th percentile), is 23 1/2 inches in length (85th percentile) and her head is 14 and 3/4 inches around (only 15th percentile!). Looks like she takes after her Dad in height, me in having a small head and we're not sure where her chunkiness comes from!
